THE TANZANITE CITY, WHY WE NEED IT! Part #1

In Brief:
ESTA-TZ Limited was established specifically to develop a city of science, technology and Innovation in Tanzania; the Tanzanite City. This city is our endeavor to develop homegrown technology capabilities and facilitate the establishment of myriad technology industrial enterprises. Our motivation being to make the city an Africa’s factory and innovation powerhouse, that will affect everyone’s life in this continent and play great role in improving the quality of life, economic growth and protecting our environment

Our country like all other African sub Saharan countries, faces the same problems that greatly contribute to under develop this continent. Despite the large population and plenty of natural resources our countries endowed, most of these countries import more than 90% of their industrial needs which includes highly sophisticated items to most insignificant items most of which would be manufactured here in our country. This import not only narrows the opportunity of our country to create jobs to its people but also drains our foreign currency reserves which by the way we don’t have much because we don’t export much as we import.

Our country is also a gate way by which our land locked neighboring countries use to carry out their imports of industrial items and exports or raw materials. When they pass by we join them and go all the way out there to bring things that our young graduates from our universities would have been manufacturing here, creating wealth to our nation.

Trying to solve these problems, now our countries are competing to lure the foreign investors (FDI) to invest in various manufacturing sectors such as assembling and processing industries. But due to the fact that we do not have technology capability to absorb, assimilate, and innovate these new technologies, concepts, processes, and equipment brought by these FDIs, the link between them and our entrepreneurs is very weak which make it difficult gaining access to new technologies via foreign joint ventures and Foreign Direct Investment.

For our country to move forward from here we must develop our own technology capability so that we can play together with foreign investors when they come. My company believes that in order to develop the capability of our nation to create jobs to its people we must establish many industrial enterprises possible and promote manufacturing of our own products rather than selling someone else's. 

In order to save our foreign currency we must start exporting vigorously especially to our neighboring countries, and to achieve this we must ensure that our manufacturing industries develop capacity in productivity and competitiveness and in order to stop these neighbors from passing by our country instead let them shop here, we must manufacture here what they go for there. And all that we must to do achieve this is what the Tanzanite city is being developed for.

Tanzanite City under the administration of ESTA-TZ will do this by developing the perfect business system that will attract investors, entrepreneurs and technology experts, all in one geographical area which will become a hotbed of innovation and high end talent gathering place.

In the city our university graduates will be given assignments / missions to develop specific technology/products to solve specific problem or address specific needs. They will be put in secrete camps which later on upon achievement of the mission they will be converted into technology development centers. The mission team members will be assisted to launch and build companies basing on their mission. The journey in the technology development mission camps will take between six months to two years (depending on complexity of the mission goals) of hard working, brainstorming, doing experiments, testing various ideas, building models and prototypes, collection, processing, evaluation and publications all the intellectual re-sources, and converting the developed technologies into real end user products / piece of technology

For every mission, not less than twelve companies will be launched and built of which shares distribution will be 25% ESTA-TZ, 25% the mission team and 50% members of Friends Club of the Tanzanite City.

This Friends Club of the Tanzanite City is our strategy to raise funds and mobilize investment capability of ordinary Tanzanian individuals and making them venture capitalists of the Tanzanite City. All they have to do is fill the joining form and pay peanut contribution, minimum 60,000/- a year or 5,000 monthly. This contribution fee will be used for development of infrastructures and working facilities in the city.

The journey to develop the Tanzanite City will take 15 years from 2016 to 2030 and is divided into phases as described in our development road map. In this year we have three major items to achieve, number one is promotion of the Tanzanite City and the Friends Club of the Tanzanite City (we want to register 100,000 members), second is acquisition of 400sq km of land of the city and third is fundraising for enabling our construction company that will be responsible for all constructions in the city.

Lastly I would like to invite all of you to join hand with us and together, let us develop a country’s primary innovation engine, the Tanzanite City! We strongly believe that we have plenty of GOLD & TANZANITE to dig from talents of our young people than any available mining operations on earth. And this City will be the mining of those talents & a factory for processing them. This is where the highly qualified graduate of our universities and colleges will be provided with challenging works before they are overcrowded with life tragedies, it will be the hatchery of technology industries in our country”.
