I have honor to invite and introduce you to the mission of developing THE TANZANITE CITY OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATIONS, This city is an endeavor to promote rapid progress of export-oriented industrialization and development of strong and competitive Small & Medium Industrial Enterprises as an essential prerequisite for continued development and increased competitiveness of the manufacturing industries in Tanzania. Our goal is make it a center of technology industry advancement in Africa.
A first priority on our agenda is nurturing of small and medium-sized industrial enterprises (SMIEs) which are critical in an attempt to achieve the goals of increasing investment, creating employment opportunities and managing sustainable development. SMIEs play a key role not only in the economic development and intra-regional trade and investment, but they are also instrumental in promoting trade and investment activities including the facilitation of a more open environment for investment in our country. To be in line with the government efforts to lure manufacturing industries, our focus is to develop supporting industries to provide parts and components for assembly and processing-type industries, such as the automobile and electrical/electronic industries.
In order to execute the whole mission successfully and efficiently, we have registered a company (ESTA-TZ Limited), that has to work in partnership with government, industry, and academia to administer all operations of developing The Tanzanite City, including the development of infrastructures and facilities required to cater the needs of the expected scientific and technological advancement in our country; Such operations are collection, processing, publications and making available to our scientists and entrepreneurs all the intellectual resources as may ne be needed, building infrastructures for doing applied research and carrying out various technology development missions, Converting the developed technologies into real end user products / piece of technology, Up scaling and commercialization of the developed products/technologies
